Trapp : Training for apprentices

Abstract

European mobility for apprentices has been developing for about fifteen years. Many arrangements allowing financial, administrative, legal and collaborative support have been implemented to contribute to this trend.

However, the proportion of apprentices having a professional experience in Europe remains very limited. Thus, at the national level, only 3 to 4% of apprentices achieve European mobility. Of this volume, the duration of the mobility is less than 1 month for 72%, and very few people leave more than 3 months.

It seems fundamental to work towards the establishment of a genuine European area for vocational training.

In this project, carried out by apprenticeship training centers, mobility providers, a regional education authority and a Chamber of Crafts, the partners expect to combine their skills to facilitate, secure and promote long-term mobility for apprentices, during their training and after their training. The project focuses on two specific sectors: hairdressing and automotive,

By combining both pedagogical and entrepreneurial skills, the consortium also plans to build and test a innovative certificate.

Intellectual outputs

  • Construction of a shared legal framework
  • Creation of an European area of human resources for long-term mobility
  • Implementation of a pedagogical guideline
  • Recognition and validation of the learning achievements with ECVET
